Reception - RE, RD, RL 2022 - 2023
Welcome to Reception's class page!
Our Reception teachers are Mrs Ekoku, Miss Dixon and Miss Lennon. We are supported by Miss Riley, Miss Grant and Miss Martin.
Key weekly information:
PE: PE will take place on Wednesday (RL), Thursday (RE) and Friday (RD). On this day your children will need to come to school wearing their full PE kit. We would also like to remind you that no jewellery should be worn to school and that shoes with Velcro should be worn unless your child can independently lace and fasten their own shoes.
Outdoor Learning: Outdoor learning is a fundamental part of our curriculum. Children will have the maximum opportunities to play and learn outdoors. Children will need their own waterproofs and wellies and these will be kept in school.
Snack: Children will have the opportunity to access snack daily. This will consist of a range of healthy foods such as fruit, yoghurts and toast. A payment of £36 will need to be made at the beginning of the Autumn term and this will cover snack costs for the duration of the year. Children will be provided with the opportunity to access milk and water at their leisure, throughout the day.
Attendance: Daily attendance at school from an early age supports children to fulfill their full potential. Remember that every second of every day counts and please notify the school office on your child’s first day of absence. Our school day starts at 8.45 and ends at 3.15.
Reading: Children will choose a library book to bring home every Monday and Thursday. Please ensure that their library book is in their book bag on these days. Once your child is issued with a school reading book, these are changed every Monday. Additional reading books are set on Oxford Owl weekly. Please see your child's class teacher if you need help with your child's login details. If you listen to your child read please make a comment and update their reading journal. We will send additional information regarding reading to you on Tapestry throughout the year.
Tapestry: Tapestry is a secure online learning journal used to record photos, observations and comments, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, to build up a record of your child's WOW moments during their time with us. This system allows us to work with parents and carers to share information and record the child's play and learning in and outside of the classroom. Tapestry is a website that can be accessed on a computer or laptop, and also on any Apple or Android device such as a tablet or smart phone.
