Welcome to Year 2D's class page!

The children have settled into Year Two fantastically and I am so excited for our year ahead! Please check our class page regularly for updates and photos of some of the exciting things we get up to in class.  Key Information

Reading

Children will be given multiple reading books to take home with their School Planner. Please comment in the planner when you have listened to your child read. When children change their reading book in class they will often read with an adult before taking the book home to enjoy. This year, we will be using the Read Write Inc programme to teach reading and writing so take a look at the Read Write Inc page (under the curriculum section of our website) for more information.

Homework

Reading books will be sent home weekly. Any additional maths and English homework will be sent home on a Friday and can be returned any day of the following week. There will be a big emphasis on learning times tables in maths and ensuring the children are given lots of opportunity to read at home. 

Water bottles and Snack

It would be brilliant if every child has a named, water bottle in school to enable them to drink as much as possible during the school day, especially when the weather is warm and for after P.E lessons. Snack will be provided, therefore children do not need to bring in their own.

PE

Our PE days are on a Tuesday and a Thursday. On those days, the children will need to come in to school wearing their PE kit. They will keep this on for the whole day. Our school PE kit is black shorts or trousers with a white t-shirt and a black jacket.
