I hope to see you all soon, take care and thank you for your ongoing support at this challenging time.

Mrs.  Killough

Hello and welcome to 6C's class page.

I am thrilled to be joining 6C in their last year at Plantation. It is wonderful to see so many familiar faces and some new ones too!

The rumours are true- Year 6 can be very difficult, with lots of hard work and revision, however it is also the year that lifelong memories and friendships are formed.

On our class page you will find some useful information and our class blogs, which will give you up-to-date action from ‘6C’.

Please read the important information below. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks for your ongoing support,

Mrs. Killough

Important Information for this term:

P.E. days (both outdoor lessons)

Wednesday - Outdoor P.E. (Plantation P.E. kit/warm clothing and trainers)

Thursday - Outdoor P.E. (Plantation P.E. kit/ warm clothing and trainers)

Homework - Reading Eggs and Mathletics tasks will be set every Friday and should be completed by the following Thursday.

Times Tables - Every child has been given a username and password to access Times Tables Rock Stars. This is a brilliant resource to help practise times tables facts and the children can track their own progress as well as teachers.

Spellings - New spellings will be given out every Monday and children will be tested on a Friday. Every child has been given a username and password to access Spelling Shed. This is a great resource to help practise spelling rules.

We will be using Accelerated Reading again this year. The children will be given a book for their level and will complete a short quiz on that book.  By using Accelerated Reading I can track the children’s progress, but please remember to read as much as you can with your child at home too. Our aim is for all children to be reading at home at least four times per week. This reading should be recorded in their planners.

To Improve comprehension skills, we will also be using Reading Eggs. This interactive app is a fun, engaging resource to help develop all reading skills both in school and at home too. Each child has been given their own username and password to keep at home.

Please encourage your child to use their Plantation Planner each week. I will check all planners on a Friday, however if there's a message from home in your child's planner please remind them to pass it to me in the morning.
