Tuesday 21st June

Today was the sixth day of the Euro 2016 FIFA tournament. The first match of the day was Ben B (Poland) playing against Dylan (Germany). Just thirteen minutes in, Reus- a Germany player- scored a goal for his team. Even though Ben had a lot of chances, Dylan still managed to hang on to his 1-0 lead, making Germany the winners of the game.

The next game contained multiple goals and was an exciting one to watch. Tom, as Croatia, was against Luca, Czech Republic. The first goal of the match was won by Croatia 43 minutes in. The next three goals were also scored by Croatia making the score 4-0. Tom –Croatia- felt sorry for Luca as he had four goals and Luca had none. So Tom scored an own goal, making the score 4-1. Tom then went on to score two more goals: one at seventy two minutes and the other at ninety minutes. The clear winner was Tom. He had scored the most goals in a single match so far.

To end the day, Mason faced Haider (Mason was Turkey, while Haider was Spain). The first goal of the game was scored by Turkey in the 36th minute. Seventy minutes in, Mason received a red card, although this did not put him off. Turkey scored 10 minutes after the red card to make the score 2-0. To end the game, Turkey scored a further two goals and the score ended at 4-0. It was a win for Turkey. Haider just wasn’t up to the challenge. Better luck next time, Haider!

Wednesday 22nd June

The seventh day of the FIFA tournament 2016 has come to a start by Luis from Miss Hughes’s class (Sweden) and Anthony from Mr McGorian’s class (Italy). 23 minutes in, the first goal of the day was scored by Luis with a great finish from Ibrahimovic –a Sweden player. Sweden gained a free kick in the 68th minute which was deflected off an Italy player; Sweden saw an opportunity to score a goal, so they tapped the ball into the net. The game ended with the score as 2-0 to Sweden.

The following match was Ben M (Iceland) against Dan C (Hungary). During the first half Hungary took a 1-0 lead. The rest of the first half was quiet up until Dan C scored two quick goals just before half time. There were no more goals in the rest of the game. The final score was 2-1 to Hungary.

The next game was a group decider as both teams were at the top of their group. Daniel M was playing as France against George H who was playing as Switzerland. The first goal of the game was scored by France, Daniel taking a one nil lead. To rescue a point, George scored with only nine minutes left in the game. The score ended with a 1-1 draw, so the team to go at the top of the league was decided on goal difference and it was George.

The last match of the day was Byron as Romania against Jamie as Albania. The match was filled with many goals all for one side: Albania scored nine goals while Romania scored none. Jamie scored his first three goals in the first half, then he scored the remaining six in the second half. Before the match Jamie was at the bottom of his group but after his win he moved up to third place giving him a good chance of getting through to the knockout stages on goal difference.

This was the end of this week’s FIFA games. More games to follow.
