Paralympic athlete Lee Whiteley will be visiting our school!

We are very excited to inform you about a special event that will be occurring for our children at Plantation Primary on Friday 24th February. We will be receiving a visit from Great Britain’s Paralympic sprinter Lee Whiteley. Lee specialises in the 100m and 200m sprint. He has Cerebral Palsy and managed to break the European record for the 100m and 200m sprint at the World Championships in Lyon in 2013.

Lee will be leading a sponsored fitness circuit with all pupils, and will follow-up with a question and answer session. The aim of the event is to inspire our children to take up sport generally, but just as importantly to encourage them to discover and then pursue their passion in life.

Attached is a sponsorship form for your child to use in order to help raise money for the event. You can also sponsor your child through ‘ParentPay’ or by following the below link:

www.sportsforschools.org/event/L507

As the sponsorship form and online sponsorship page explain, much of the money that is raised will be used to buy sports equipment for the school, while also supporting GB athletes (including Paralympic athletes).

Please ensure that sponsorship forms and moneys are submitted to the school office on or before Friday, 3rd March.

Thank you in anticipation of creating a terrific and memorable event.
