Trips, Visits and Residentials

Educational visits and experiences beyond the classroom are an important part of life at Plantation.

Across the school, children take part in visits and experiences designed both to broaden their horizons and bring their learning to life.

During the Autumn Term, each year group takes part in a museum visit or culturally focused experience.

During the summer term, children have further opportunities linked to areas of their curriculum such as science, history or geography.

These visits allow pupils to experience places, people and ideas beyond the classroom and help them make meaningful connections with what they are learning in school.

Visitors, workshops and special events within school complement these visits and give children opportunities to learn from specialists and organisations beyond the school community.

Our Year 6 pupils also have the opportunity to take part in a residential experience at PGL. This gives children the chance to develop independence, resilience, teamwork and confidence in a new environment.

Trips, visits and residentials form an important part of our wider curriculum and help children experience the world beyond school in a safe, purposeful and memorable way.
