World Mental Health Day

Dear parent/carer

Today sees World Mental Health Day being observed and the theme, ‘make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority.’

Ensuring all our children and staff are mentally well and supported as much as we can is a priority for our School, as the first factor in anyone learning well is to be happy and mentally well.

To mark the occasion this week we will be having a ‘wear something that makes you feel happy’ day this Friday – 14th October.

This can be as simple as a favourite piece of clothing; a favourite dressing up outfit; sports clothing, such as a favourite team, local team or squad that your child is in; or clothing that brings back particular memories that make your child happy.

It would be so special if your child could tell us why they are wearing what they have on too and hopefully create a day with a buzz of happiness and warmth!

For example, my plan is to wear my Saints rugby top.  This is significant as it makes me feel happy reminding me of the first matches that I took my daughter to this season.  I grew up in St Helens and went to the rugby regularly with my dad when I was growing up.  Something my daughter and I will now be doing.

May thanks and looking forward to seeing your child on Friday,

Mr Hanley
