Counting in multiples of 2 and 5

We are learning to count in 2s and 5s. Please practise at home. We count up to 12 lots of 2 and 12 lots of 5, as this is the introduction to learning times tables. 

Please practise using fingers to keep track. E.G. ask your child to count 4 lots of 2, holding up a finger each time until they get to 4 fingers. 

Once they are secure doing this, use the language of "times". E.G. What is 2 times 4? They can use fingers to solve, but begin to learn the facts by heart.
