Day 2 of NSSW - Lower 7 & Lower 8

Date: 26th Jun 2018 @ 7:36pm

It was competition day today and we were given the task of shooting a basketball into a net. Sounds simple doesn't it? However, it wasn't as easy as it looked! We didn't have any practise throws and we were given just one shot to get the ball into the basket. If we scored, we went through to the next round, but if we missed then we were out of the competition. There were lots of children who made the first basket and it was great to hear the cheers from our friends when they went in.The next round had us shooting from even further away, and the numbers of children scoring quickly began to dwindle! We ended up with 12 children remaining, so we completed the next round from the same distance. After this round, just four children remained, meaning that these children were now in the final that would be played at the end of our sports festival tomorrow! However, we needed another two children and so we invited those children that had missed in the last round back to try one more time. After a tense affair, we had our last two finalists, meaning that we could thank everyone involved in the planning and running of the competition before returning to class.

Our six finalists tomorrow will be:

Lucie B      Max D     Alex O     Niamh C-H     Oscar T     Sonny H
