Diversity Week 6C

Date: 3rd Dec 2018 @ 8:40pm

During Diversity Week, Year 6 enjoyed learning all about Malala Yousafzia, a young Pakistani girl who was shot in the head by the Taliban. Malala campaigns for the right for all children around the world to receive an education. Here is a quote that really stood out to us, taken from one of her most famous speeches:

“One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.”

Follow the Youtube link below to watch her in action.

We wrote hashtags to summarise the story of Malala; formed precepts inspired by the young activist and changed the lyrics to songs to tell her story. We are now focussing on writing our own speeches in the style of this inspirational woman.

On Friday, 6C went to see what the other classes in the school had learnt during Diversity Week. We were blown away by the creativity and enthusiasm that every year group displayed when focusing on their own key figures and issues surrounding diversity.
