Today was the third (and final) day of the Euro 2016 Fifa tournament qualifying stages. With most of the contenders putting up a strong fight in the previous games, the pressure was on for the remaining teams to perform well.

To start off the day, Charlie took on Byron which was a very interesting game. Byron decided to play as Chelsea, while Charlie went forward as Barcelona. It was a very tight game in both the first and second half, meaning the score was 0-0 at the end of the game. This meant that the winner would be determined by penalties.  Charlie unfortunately failed to score a single penalty, so all Byron needed was one goal or more and he would win. He successfully scored two goals in his last two penalties! Byron was through to the group stage of the competition.

Holly (as Manchester United) was ready to face Louis (as Republic of Ireland) for the next game. The first half was uneventful except for the goal by Louis which was scored 26 minutes in. To add to his ongoing attacking play, Louis scored again at 77 minutes - making the score 2-0.In added time, Holly tackled Louis, giving Louis a penalty. He scored! The score was 3-0 to Louis.

In the following game Logan faced Dan as Bayern Munich, with Dan choosing Borussia Dortmund. 25 minutes in, Dan received a red card, giving Logan a penalty but he missed. In the second half Dan scored an easy goal to make the score 1-0. Dan made a silly mistake soon after by taking his goalkeeper out of his goal, allowing Logan to score his first goal. The score ended 1-1. This meant the game was going to penalties. Dan won on penalties gaining a place in the group stages.

The game Fletcher played against Jacob was a game nobody wanted to miss as both were playing as popular teams. Fletcher was Real Madrid and Jacob was Barcelona. Fletcher scored during the first ten minutes, making the score 1-0. The first half was mostly quiet after this. The second half commenced with Fletcher scoring at 52 minutes; Fletcher was getting a steady lead. Fletcher then made a rash mistake by taking down Jacob’s player, resulting in a booking and a penalty. Luckily, Jacob scored. The score was now 2-1 to Fletcher. Real Madrid scored again, to secure the win, with a deflected free-kick. At full time, the score was 3-1 and Fletcher was through.

The final match of the qualifiers was Jamie (Bayern Munich) against Tom (Barcelona). Tom scored early on in the match, leaving Jamie to catch up. The rest of the match was quiet up until the 70th minute, when Jamie equalised with a penalty to make the score 1-1. After three minutes of added time, the match went to penalties with Tom scoring four and Jamie scoring two. As a result, the final score was 4-2 to Barcelona on penalties – sending Tom through as our final tournament qualifier.
