Everton in the Community - poetry workshop

Date: 8th Nov 2018 @ 7:21pm

Ten children from Year 5 and 6 took a trip to Everton In The Community’s Blue Base today, to listen to the very talented poet, Paul Cookson perform some of his poetry. Paul was absolutely hilarious and he had us all in stitches as he played the ukulele along to one of his favourite poems about his dead dog.

In the second half of the session, Paul gave us tips for writing our own poetry in anticipation of the Premier League Poetry competition, which this year will be centred on the theme of ‘Diversity’.

To finish the afternoon, we collectively wrote and then performed a poem all about a referee titled Kickoff.

A huge well done to Zack Stuart, who won a poetry book prize for his fantastic input during the session.
