Stay home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.

Dear parent/carer

The Department for Education issued a statement to schools last night, underlining the importance of engaging with learning whilst keeping safe:

'The Secretary of State for Education, Gavin Williamson, has today made a statement to the House of Commons about the closure of schools in England during the national lockdown.

He stated that schools have not suddenly become unsafe but limiting the number of children and students who attend them is essential to curb the escalating cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) throughout the country and prevent the NHS from being overwhelmed.'

On the back of that statement, if you can make arrangements for your children at home or with a trusted relative in your support bubble, that is always a good option. We all need to play our part in getting this virus under control by minimising contacts. At the same time, if you are a key worker and need to get to work, we are here to support you.

Remember: Stay home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.

Thank you for your support of the work we have all had to do at a rapid pace - it is a privilege to be part of such a wonderful school community.

Kind regards

Mr Hanley
