IMPORTANT national lockdown

Dear parent/carer

I write to you again following the announcement this evening of our further national lockdown and the message that all schools will be closed except for the children of key workers/critical workers and vulnerable children.

It is neither fortunate nor unfortunate that Plantation is already in this position. It was saddening to decide on a partial closure for our school over the weekend, and this is now compounded as we hear this is in place until at least the February half term.

I know we will all be hoping and praying that this is the final and decisive step our country needs to break the cycle of this infection.

As it stands, it appears that the measures and partial closure already implemented at our school remain the same throughout the school from Nursery to Year 6.

For our key workers, I reiterate the message to ensure you have registered with us following my texts and emails earlier today. This enables us to make crucial logistical decisions in school as we have accurate expectations of numbers on site. Click here to see the  current definitions for key workers in my previous News message.

The routines and expectations in effect today remain in place, e.g. staggered start and finish times, designated routes through school etc. If this should alter, we will do our utmost to let you know in advance of changes coming into effect should they be necessary.

As I discussed in my previous email this evening, I hope that the time when our school can return to the environment we had pre-covid comes soon.

Please stay safe and take care, both in your physical health and your mental wellbeing.

Warmest wishes, Mr Hanley
